Syfy has axed outbreak thriller Helix after two low-rated seasons, the THR confirms:
The decision to cancel Helix comes as Syfy has been making a concerted effort to focus on high-profile science fiction programming including 12 Monkeys — already renewed for a second season — as well as big-swing minis The Expanse and Childhood’s End. On the more traditional side, the NBCUniversal-owned cable network has drama series Hunters (from The Walking Dead EP Gale Anne Hurd) due in 2016 and a slate of dramas that also includes Olympus, Defiance, Haven, Z Nation and Dark Matter, among others.
RIP.

I liked Helix. Angers me that they are cancelling it. They give a cliff hanger and now will never know how it ends . That is bull.

I agree. Really liked this show. It is one of a few series I have been watching that are now cancelled.

This network wouldn’t recognize a good show if it bit them in the ass! Still pissed after alphas was canceled and now Helix? I’m not watching this network anymore.

I enjoyed the 1st season but season 2 is disgusting and seems really confusing in relation to season 1 and I lost interest because of those 2 factors.

This is disappointing. Watching TV is becoming sort of nerve-wracking, you never know whether to get invested in a show for fear that the network will pull the rug out from under you. I’m still annoyed by Fox’s cancellation of Brimstone, not to mention the last season of Angel, Firefly, and In The Flesh. Don’t get me started…
Anyway, I liked Helix, but it seemed to weave between good, scary, WTF and ewww, and I never knew what to expect. I’ll miss it.

Me too! 🙁 I totally agree that too many awesome shows don’t get their due chance…I blame reality tv fans, and probably a Kardashian or two, for this unfortunate trend. Idiocracy is seeming more like a prophecy than a work of fiction these days :/

Am VERY disappointed that Helix has been cxl. I got very invested in both seasons n loved how unpredictable it was, Especially season 2….I was totally looking forward to finding out where Julia went next w/ Illaria. SyFy network blows for pullin plug on this amazing psychological thriller. This is what I think of Excs at SyFy

Just realised everything I watch has been cancelled why bother paying cable subscription sick of shows not having proper endings so I have made the decision to cancel my cable (done)

I am so very tired of getting involved in a SyFy series only to have it end leaving everything up in the air. With no sense of closure I am not just disappointed and frustrated but MAD. This is just not considerate, not professional and insulting to the public mentality.
I will be very hesitant to watch ANY SyFy series in the future until they have ended with a reasonable conclusion. Then I will either download it or watch it on DVD. Why put myself through frustration time and time again? SyFy will just have to hood wink someone else! I have learned my lesson.
